Angel Food's groceries are sold in a quantity that can, fit into a medium sized box at $30.00 per unit. Each month's set menu is different than the previous month and consists of both fresh and frozen.items with an average retail value of approximately $65.00.
Generally, one unit of food assists in feeding a family of four for about one week or a single person for almost a month. There are no "second-hand", "damaged" or out-dated goods.
A senior box is also available. These are top quality meals that will provide senior citizens the nutrition they need with the great quality they have come to expect from AngelFood Ministries. The cost of'this box is $28.00. It consists often individual meals that are fully cooked. A person does not have to be a senior citizen to order one. Many singles and working families purchase this-box for daily lunches or quick suppers. Even fast food is more than $2.80 per meal.
Monthly specials are available with purchase of a regular or senior box. These specials normally include various meat items. An individual can purchase any reasonable number of units or special boxes.

Outreach of Hope began in April 2006 when a group of Christian friends from different churches and denominations wanted to come together to make a difference in our community. The purpose is to share God's love. In response to a call to serve, Outreach of Hope became a host site for Angel Food Ministries in May 2007. Angel Food is one of several local ministries that evolved out of the Outreach of Hope effort.
Angel Food is a non-profit, nondenominational organization dedicated to providing grocery relief to communities throughout the United States. The program began with 34 families in Monroe, Georgia in 1994, and has grown to serve hundreds of thousands of families every month across 35 states. Angel Food Ministries crosses denominationallines and helps spread the good news of the gospel of Christ.

How it works:
Anyone may use this grocery relief program. There are no minimums, income restrictions, or applications. Angel Food Ministries does participate in the U. S. Food Stamp program, (EBT card) using the, off-line voucher system.
Food orders and payments must be received by the dates listed on the-Angel Food Calendar along with an accepted form of payment. If using an EBT card (food stamps) the funds must be available on the date the order is placed.
A monthly menu/order form is made available on the previous month'sdistribution date. Orders may be placed at that time or on a Iaterdate as noted on the menu/order form and, calendar.
A receipt will be issued for each order. The orders are compiled, along with total payment, and forwarded to the Angel Food office in Monroe, Georgia. The food is shipped and distributed across the country on the Saturday specified on the Angel Food Calendar.
Customers are asked to pick up their food at Calvary Baptist Church. Volunteers from the community come together to prepare for distribution and assist in loading groceries. We ask that the customers present their receipt at the time of distribution.
Angel Food Minislries reserves the right to substitute for any item due to availability, cost or quality issues.
